Understanding the Need for China VPN
by Valer in News | 1 CommentThere are many reasons why VPN (virtual private network) has become so popular in China(PRC). Because the Internet is extremely restricted and censored in the country, the only way to access a great deal of information will be through a VPN. If you will be spending time in this country, then it is important that you understand how to use a VPN and what it can do for you.
How Do They Censor the Internet?
In China, there is a great deal of control over what sites can be accessed and which cannot be. You may be surprised at just how many sites are actually restricted and it can be quite inconvenient. Just how do they do this? China has a very enhanced firewall system that is incorporated into any Internet Service Provider system that you could choose. When you connect to the Internet in China, then you will be using one of those service providers and you will be under that firewall. That firewall will scan every site that you try to visit. If the site you are trying to visit is considered unacceptable, then you will be blocked.
Why Do They Censor the Internet?
The Chinese government has a great deal of control over the information and data that their residents are allowed to see. They have very strong control over the Internet. In fact, there are more than 50 different regulations over the World Wide Web that is allowed in China at this time. According to the Chinese government, there is simply too much access to corruption online to make it free and available to their citizens, and censorship first began way back in the 1980s.
How to Use VPN
The good news is, whether you are staying in PRC or relocating there, you can get around this extreme censorship. To do so, you will need to make use of a VPN connection. There are different VPN services that you could choose, and they will include a monthly fee. All you will need to do is spend some time shopping for the right one. Here are some of the most well known service providers that you could choose: Hidemyass, Strong VPN, IAPS, Express VPN and VyprVPN.
China is one of the most well known countries in the world for its censorship. Because of this, accessing needed information on the Internet can be very frustrating if you are in the country. However, with a reliable VPN service, you can access the sites you need.

SecurityKiss and Sumrando are very good VPN service, however, they blocked recently. This time they use different ways. I could login into sumrando, however, it still shows that I use my local IP. We have to change the VPN services constantly, a cumbersome business.
