The problem was that once I shared my location with Google maps. It knew my physical location. This happens only when I am using WiFi. My wired desktop is not giving away my location. I have stronger restrictions on the WiFi connected laptop though.
This means the service has a hole in it. Support did not have a sufficient answer for this.

Once shared, location most probably was saved in the Internet browser cache or cookies, try to delete the cookies and cache in your browser.
